Lawn Monuments

Lawn style monuments are typically constructed using the same basic construction technique by our monumental masons. They are cut from slabs of granite in various thicknesses, with the individual components then polished, inscriptions sandblasted and gilded before being transported and assembled on-site. The illustration to the left shows the individual components that are assembled together to create a lawn style monument. Each of these components can be customized to suit an individual’s needs and, in some cases, can be omitted altogether. There are numerous options available for each component, particularly the headstone, niche unit, and base stone. Various stones can be mixed together to create truly unique lawn style monuments. All components are available in a variety of stone finishes. Granite, the primary material used, is impervious to all weather conditions and can withstand a wide range of extremes in dryness, moisture, as well as hot or cold climates. It can also withstand acid rain pollution without any noticeable change over thousands of years, making granite the most suitable choice of stone for lawn style gravestones and memorial plaques.
